PEdro Viegas Barros interviewed on death of Chaná speaker

Our colleague Pedro Viegas Barros was interviewed on Argentinian television on the death of Blas W. O. Jaime, who was the last known traditional speaker of the Charruan Language Chaná. The interview was conducted by Virginia Demichelis for the news programme Nueve Noticias, for Canal 9 Litoral. Paraná (Entre Ríos, Argentina) on 18 September 2026.

Pedro's 2013 work with Mr Jaime was the most detailed material available on the language: La lengua chaná, patrimonio cultural de Entre Ríos.
